The Bourbon That Changed Everything.
On Texas Independence Day in 2010, we proudly introduced the very first Texas-born bourbon—Young Gun—and made a little history along the way. Rather than follow the old Kentucky rulebook, we leaned into our Texas roots, aging Young Gun for a single, bold year beneath our scorching sun. That blazing heat and relentless climate worked wonders, coaxing out flavors so deep and dynamic they challenged everything we thought we knew about bourbon. What emerged was a rich, complex character that caught the world’s attention, sparked the birth of the entire Texas bourbon category, and proved Garrison Brothers would become a force that reshaped American whiskey’s future.

It Aged For One Year, Then Changed Bourbon Forever.
In March of 2010 on Texas Independence Day, we introduced the first whiskey and the first bourbon to ever be made in Texas and the first outside of Kentucky. Young Gun was aged for just one year, which is unheard of in the whiskey world. But even after such a short aging, the scorching Texas sun allowed the oak to impart a rich boldness on the spirit that even the oldest Kentucky bourbons had couldn’t match. This incredibly rare expression is a symbol of Texas history, bourbon history and the triumph it brought to Garrison Brothers Distillery.
