VOLUNTEER BOTTLING

Join the Bourbon Maquiladora

AT GARRISON BROTHERS DISTILLERY AUTOMATION IS NONEXISTENT; THUS, WE RELY HEAVILY ON OUR DEDICATED CORPS OF VOLUNTEERS. WE CALL OUR BOTTLING OPERATION THE REDNECK MAQUILADORA.

When you pick up a bottle of Garrison Brothers, chances are it was lovingly bottled, dipped and sealed by a team of dedicated bourbon drinkers not unlike yourself. Tens of thousands of people have asked to come bottle, Texans and non-Texans alike. Over a two-day stretch, corked bottles are wrapped with deerskin leather pull-tabs called pigtails – dipped in hot wax, then sealed with a Texas star, lovingly imprinted into the warm wax.

"Volunteers are crucial to getting those bottles out into the market...We find that these volunteers turn into brand ambassadors and close friends."

How It Works

Volunteering at Garrison Brothers Distillery is an experience unlike any other. Friendships are forged and stories are shared as bottles are dipped in wax and sealed with a star. We provide a delicious lunch and breakfast each day, along with plenty of seltzers, beers, and other beverages throughout the bottling process.

If you’re still on the fence about volunteering, we’ve got two words for you: quality control. Every half-hour, an old brass communion tray filled with dozens of “quality control” bourbon shots is passed around. Shots are followed by toasts honoring the volunteer with a birthday or anniversary, or in gratitude for the American troops proudly protecting us overseas.
